Brooks’ Nursery

A very long overdue blog post, but I finally got around to it. Being a mom is a serious full-time job, and I now understand and have so much appreciation for all my mamas out there. Now that I am finally getting back into the groove of things, the first post back I wanted to show baby Brooks’ nursery! I have gotten sooo many questions about it, so here is alllll the details! I am providing links to (almost) everything so that you guys can shop whatever you love.

When I first found out I was having a boy, I struggled SO hard figuring out what I wanted to do for his room. I’m not going to lie, I had everything pinned for baby girls, and knew exactly what I was going to do. Then that blue confetti shot up in the air, and all the brainstorming began haha. I knew I didn’t want to d anything traditional using blue, black, green, grey. I wanted something more “gender neutral.” Matt hates that term and was noooot on board, but we came to an agreement on using warm colors. Then all the accents would be wood and black to complete that boyish look. We didn’t really declare a theme for it, we just wanted the nursery to be the “fun” room in the house. Our house is very black and white and neutral all around, so we wanted to get creative and have fun with his room!

For the accent wall that you all have seen on Instagram, we hand painted it! We have don’t something similar in the past to my old office, so we knew what we were doing. It’s sooo easy though, I can’t even begin to tell you how easy it is. All you need is the blue painters tape, and basically eyeball your outline on the wall. We wanted a triangle design so we split the wall up that way. We wanted to make our triangles different sizes, so that if we messed up, you wouldn’t even know haha. Then for the little line design, I stenciled it and painted it in. That was by far the hardest part, it’s not even at all but from afar you can’t tell! And I was 100% not going back to fix that shit.

For all of our furniture, we wanted to go with a light wash wood, to brighten up the room. With the warm colored accent wall, and the dark hard wood floor, it needed some brightening. Our collection of furniture came from different places, but all the woods matched each other so well! We shopped at Ikea, Babeyletto, Amazon, and Urban Outfitters. We also liked the wood idea, because it will work for future baby’s room too! Wood goes with everything, so we thought it was a good decision in the long run.

Now here is a run down of all the furniture we used, and the decorative pieces!
