What I Wore + Bridal Party

My wedding dress was more than I ever dreamed of. With the netting and lace detail, mesh open back, and intricate train, I still die over it! I purchased it from Mariposa Bridal Boutique in Anaheim, and the designer is Maggie Sottero. We called my dress “the time killer” dress. It was my last appointment before making the final decision, and we all came back to see me in my top two choices. But, one of the moms was running late, and I didn’t want to try on any without her there, so my cousin Peyton picked one she randomly saw and kinda liked! I put that one on first to kill some time, and was immediately so confused. I couldn’t believe how much I loved this dress, and how I never had seen it before! When I walked out to show all the moms, everyone had a look on their face as if I was screwed because they knew I just found another one that I loved.

So, I went back in and tried on the other two dresses that I came back for, and I totally didn’t get that same feeling as the time killer dress when I slipped it on. It was basically a no brainer, so I put the other one back on and that was it! The color wasn’t pure white, it was a sand. I remember being a little skeptical about it, but it grew on me more and more. It was just so different. It was a mixture style of bohemian and ethereal, but had a very timeless look. The style was trumpet, so it fit my body like a glove and flared out starting at my mid calf.

For alterations, I got very lucky with not having to hem it. We ordered the petite length, and I just had to find some high ass heels and I was good! I’m 5’3, and needed to get a 3 1/2 – 4 inch heel. I knew I wasn’t going to be able to walk around all day/night in that, so I found a platform chunky heel from Steve Madden – “Madeline Cognac Leather“. It wasn’t your typical wedding heel, but I didn’t mind because you were never going to see them! The heel was SO comfortable and I wore them all night long, my wedding dress had a comfy stretch to it, so I felt amazing the entire night.

My veil was from Etsy, and my best friend who got married in September just a couple months before me, wore it on her wedding day. We bought the veil together and knew we were going to share. Since she was wearing it first, I totally trusted that she wasn’t going to ruin it haha. It was a plain veil, all we wanted was something longer than our dresses, no hemmed or detailed edges, just a raw soft white classic basic veil.

Moving onto my beautiful bridal party! Ugh, they looked so freaking beautiful that day, I felt like I was standing next to real life angels. I wanted a very neutral theme, but with a little mauve pink color pop. For my maid of honors, their dress was from ASOS – TFNC Petite Lace Up Back Maxi Bridesmaid Dress. It was the first dress I found, and we all fell in love with it. The color was a mauve pink, exactly what I wanted. It had a very sophisticated neckline. The torso was lace and then from the hip down a beautiful polyester fabric with a subtle train. So classy and beautiful! ASOS has a great selection of dresses, and their shipping and return policy is amazing. We exchanged one size and it was so fast and easy. Definitely check some of their pieces out because you will be impressed!

My bridesmaids, oh man that was a struggle haha. We literally didn’t nail the dress down until like three months before? So not me, but a lot of brands I was in communication with, did not work out. Then, Endless Summer walked into my life, and not only completed my wardrobe but, all my ladies too! I had the pleasure to work with the owner Suzanne, who is literally the sweetest ever! She was always on top of it, never kept me waiting, and was just so easy to communicate with. She sent multiple samples of fabrics to help me and literally nailed all the colors. I wanted use all of them! So, what I did was chose two styles I liked that they had already made. I chose the Harper Slip Dress & the Lindsay Wrap dress. For the Harper slip, we customized it to hit the floor and extended the slit to above the knee instead of being way high up there. Once we officially picked the dresses, we moved on to custom colors and fabrics. It was so much fun doing this, because I wanted to be as hands on as possible designing these dresses. I chose three colors from all the swatches, one was a classic tan, light sand, and then a satin mauve pink. I let all of my bridesmaids choose their style and the color they wanted, sent over all the information to Suzanne, and the dresses were ready within about a month! I wish I had just found them initially, but I’m so happy we found her. They have a shop in Venice, and you will die over their beautiful pieces! For my future brides, CHECK THEM OUT! They have great dresses that you can wear for rehearsal dinner, bachelorette, and bridal shower!

The dream team from The Colour Attic did all of our hair and makeup. Mine, bridal party, flower girls, moms, and grandmas! They seriously killed it. For my special day, I had Loe & Jessica for makeup, and Jess for hair.

I chose to have a half up half down hair style. I didn’t want true curls, I wanted lose effortless waves. Jess did a little swirl design for my half up half down style, and I couldn’t love it more. We stuck baby’s breath around it so I matched all the rest of the girls. All of the bridesmaids chose what they wanted, but had to be able to incorporate the baby’s breath in there. The flower girls did lose curls and baby’s breath flower crowns! The mama’s and grandmas were allowed to do whatever they wanted as well!

Everyone looked sooo beautiful! Getting glammed up is definitely the most tiring part of the day, but you get to spend so much time with all your ladies, and create memories you will never forget.
